What is collected, why, how long it stays, and how to have it removed.
No advertising, no analytics, and nothing that follows you across other sites. What is collected, and why, is set out below.
Three things can happen here that involve your details. You can send a message through the contact form. You can take the Emotional Fluency Audit. You can subscribe to the newsletter. Each is described below. Nothing is sold, rented, or passed to anyone for marketing.
Eleni Rizopoulou, founder of Speak the Unspoken, is the data controller for this site. She is based in France, which means this policy is written to the standard of the EU General Data Protection Regulation and applies to every visitor, wherever they are.

What is collected. Your name, email address, and message. Optionally your organisation, role, enquiry type, and timeline, if you choose to fill those in.
Why. To read your enquiry and reply to it, and to prepare a proposal if the conversation goes that way.
Legal basis. Your consent, given by ticking the box on the form, and the steps necessary to enter into an agreement if you are enquiring about work.
How long. Enquiries that lead to work are kept for the duration of the engagement and for six years afterwards, as accounting law requires. Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within twenty-four months.
What is collected. Your email address, the profile you were given, and your fifteen answers, stored as a short string of letters. No name, no IP address, nothing else.
Why. To generate your profile, and to understand in aggregate how people respond, which shapes how this work develops.
Legal basis. Your consent, given when you submit your email to open the result.
How long. Individual submissions are deleted after twenty-four months. Anonymous aggregate patterns, with no email attached, may be kept longer.
What it is not. The audit is an orientation tool. It is not a clinical or scientifically validated assessment, it produces no diagnosis, and it is not used to evaluate anyone’s performance. Results are never shared with an employer or any third party.
What is collected. Your email address, and whether you asked to receive the newsletter.
Why. To send you essays and letters from Speak the Unspoken.
Legal basis. Your consent, given by ticking the box or by subscribing directly. The box is never ticked for you.
How long. Until you unsubscribe, which you can do from the bottom of any email, at any time, without giving a reason.
The newsletter is hosted on Substack, which processes subscriber data under its own privacy policy.
A small number of service providers process data on our behalf. Nobody else receives it.
Netlify hosts this site and handles form submissions. Like any web host, its servers record standard technical information including IP addresses, for security and operation. The legal basis is legitimate interest in keeping the site running and protected.
Substack holds the newsletter list and sends the emails.
Some of these providers operate outside the European Economic Area. Transfers rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. There is nothing to consent to, which is why you were not asked.
One preference is stored in your own browser: whether you chose light or dark mode. It never leaves your device and identifies nobody. Clearing your browser data removes it.
If analytics are added later, this section will name the provider and what it measures before anything is collected.
You have the right to ask for a copy of what is held about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to receive it in a portable format. Where processing rests on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect what was done beforehand.
Write to hello@speaktheunspoken.com and a person will answer within one month. There is no charge, and no explanation is required.
If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr, or to the supervisory authority in your own country.
